Investigate shielding of standard materials and glass for stopping 662 KeV gamma ray penetrations

Calculations on shielding are required for the building of a gamma ray radiography exposure room to ensure worker radiation. A measurement used evaluate radiation diffusive and absorption characteristics medium is linear attenuation coefficient ( ). Despite fact that, as moves through medium, its influenced by wavelength well thickness composition crucial in interaction with matter. This research uses variety materials shield source emitted Cs-137. The results obtained using scintillation counter showed that Half Value Thickness (HVT) glass aluminum were 3.57 cm, 3.39 cm while standard (concrete, iron, lead) 2.98 1.195 0.58 respectively.
